Coldplay heats it up

Coldplay has gone from being an unknown band in Britain, to a headliner that travels the world. And their latest album, Mylo Xyloto, shows why.

Coldplay is from Britain, with lead vocals by Chris Martin, and Jonny Buckland on lead guitar, Guy Barryman on bass, and Will Champion on drums. Coldplay is an alternative band. They were originally called the Starfish, but once they became managed by Phil Harvey in 1998, changed the name to Coldplay.

Coldplay has their own recording studio called the Beehive Studios. It is literally a room they made soundproof and that is where they recorded Mylo Xyloto. This is their fifth album and this one is their best-selling album to date.

Each song on Mylo Xyloto flows from one song to the next. The listener literally can’t tell where one song ends and the next begins. Even the last song ends where the first song begins. The band uses instruments you might not expect. For example, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, uses bagpipes. Instead of being just a certain kind of music, it has a wide appeal to make it more universal.  On Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, the up-beat tempo really catches your attention, but the instruments really hook you into the song. You can’t help but be involved in this music. The lyrics bring different meanings to each listener.

This album is what made me love Coldplay. I listened to their music before, but it was not until I heard Mylo Xyloto that I really loved listening to all of Coldplay’s music. This album is significant for the band because it was their number one selling album, and it made them more well-known and appreciated. This album has variety in it, so that no song is the same. It is a very memorable album for the fans and for Coldplay too, because it showed everyone that they are not a band to be dismissed.

Mylo Xyloto has become my favorite album ever. It well deserves a ten out of ten. As for travelling the world, Coldplay has played at Apple Inc’s events, and at the 54th Grammy Awards they played with Rihanna at the ceremony. Not too bad for some unknown guys from Britain.
