A Little Bit Longer
Hollywood Records (2008)
The Jonas Brothers third album, A Little Bit Longer, was released August 12, 2008. This is one of their most popular albums. It received 4 out of 5 stars from Rolling Stone. I personally believe this album deserves a 5 out of 5.
As you may have guess by the name, the Jonas Brothers is a band made up of 3 brothers. The Jonas Brothers were born in Dallas, Texas. They come from a very religious family. Their music careers started by touring with their father to different churches across America. In 2005 they decided they wanted to take music more seriously, so they made a pop music album. In the band, the oldest brother, Kevin Jonas plays: plays guitar and backing vocals. The middle brother, Joe Jonas, is the main vocals and also occasionally plays percussion and guitar. Lastly, the youngest brother Nick Jonas plays: guitar, piano, drums, bass, vocals and percussion.
A Little Bit Longer was produced in 2008 at Hollywood Records. The album title comes from one of the songs on the record sung by Nick. The song A Little Bit Longer is one of the slower and more emotional songs on the album, but the album itself is full of a good combination of happy and sad songs. This was one of the Jonas Brothers most successful albums.
This album stands out because of it’s great combinations of different songs. The album starts out with 2 upbeat, fun songs, then the third is a slower one. That pattern carries out throughout the album. There are 6 slow songs and 6 upbeat songs on the original album. You can get the deluxe album which includes bonus songs, which are all upbeat and even includes a Beatles cover. Listening to this album could send any teenage girl on an emotional roller coaster. Especially when you get to the final song on the album, A Little Bit Longer. This song is sung by Nick and he plays the piano. He wrote this song about his struggle with diabetes.
I will always remember this album. This is the album that made me fall in love with the Jonas Brothers. All 12 songs on the album made it on the Billboard Hot 100 list, so they must’ve done something right. The Jonas Brothers stand out because they aren’t just a band, they are a family. Each of the brothers has different musical styles, but it all comes together on this album. It’s incredible that they have that much talent in their family. This album can cheer you up with songs like Burnin’ Up and Got Me Going Crazy. It can also make you feel like you’re not alone when going through tough times with songs like A Little Bit Longer and Sorry. No matter how you feel, the Jonas Brothers are always there for you.
I would really reccomend this album to anyone. I first listened to this album in 2008 and I still go back to it. This album never gets old. The emotional track A Little Bit Longer can still brings tears to my eyes so many years after it has been released. The Jonas Brothers may be viewed as just another Disney band, but I believe they are so much more than that. The Jonas Brothers are a group of genuinely talented brothers. Two thumbs up, 5 stars, perfect album.
